I find that taking online consumer surveys to be a good way to earn some extra cash in these lean times. They're all 100% free to join and participate in, and you can do them at your own leisure whenever you have a little free time. These survey companies are all very honest and dependable, and pay by check or through PayPal. You can also make money for each person you refer.

This is one of the best! The surveys are seldom very long, and the pay generally runs between $2-$10 per survey. Sometimes they get busy and you might be offered as many as 5 surveys a day, though 1 a day is closer to the norm. Your account is credited immediately after completing each survey, and you can cash-out anytime you have at least $5 in your account and they'll send you a check. You can also be paid with an Amazon gift code which is sent to you immediately.

This one doesn't pay a lot, only averaging about $1 per survey, but on the plus side they offer at least 3 surveys a day, and you can cash-out anytime you have a minimum of $1 in your account, and you'll be paid through PayPal within 24 hours- and it usually only takes a few hours! You'll also be paid $1 per month for every active referral that you have, and that's some easy money!

When you hear and read the news and they say that 65% of the people polled believe this or that, this is usually one of the companies supplying the numbers. Most of these surveys are about current events in the news. They usually show you a short video clip and ask your opinion. Most don't pay much, only 50 cents, but they only take 5 minutes and they're really interesting. Occasionally they'll have higher-paying ones, though, around $5-$6 each.
